A sample evaluation lets you see your own product in your own pouch before you commit to a configuration. It's agreed per project as a sample and data evaluation, not a standard trial program. Scope, fees, schedule and location are agreed with the team for each project; none are published.
What We Evaluate
Testing helps most when something is likely to cause trouble:
- Sticky, dusty, fragile or poorly flowing products
- Liquids with particles, high viscosity or foaming
- A new film or a new pouch
- Tight weight or fill tolerances
- Two filling approaches you want to compare
If your product doses easily and your pouch is a common one, reviewing drawings and samples may be enough. Ask us which applies. For powders, see powder pouch filling. For liquids and pastes, see liquid pouch filling and sauce pouch filling.
A sharp question gets a useful answer. "See if it works" is hard to assess. "Check that the seal holds with this powder on the pouch mouth" gives the team something to watch and record.
Information to Send
Start with a short project description.
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Product | Name, form, and what worries you (stickiness, dust, particles, viscosity) |
| Target | Net weight or volume, tolerance, speed |
| Pouch | Type, size, material, closure, any zipper or spout |
| Question | What the evaluation must answer, such as seal quality or fill consistency |
| Hazard | Classification, with an SDS where it applies |
The pouch specifications guide lists the dimensions worth measuring.
Sample Quantities and Shipping
Don't ship anything until the team has confirmed the quantity and the address. The amount depends on the product and the question, so we don't publish a standard.
Send product from a production lot and pouches made to the production specification. Substitutes can give results that don't apply to your real project. If the product is hazardous, include the SDS before shipping.
Trial Scope
Agree the scope before testing starts: which configuration, which settings, and how results are measured. Settle the measurement method first, including how weight is checked, how many packs are sampled and what counts as acceptable. Without that, the numbers are hard to compare with your tolerance.
Whether a given premade-pouch model is available for testing is confirmed with the team. Keep your own record of the product and pouch lots used, so a later production run can be compared with what was tested.
Reporting and Acceptance
A test record should state the product, the packaging material, the configuration, the settings and what was observed. A record without those is incomplete.
A result applies to the tested material and configuration. It isn't an unconditional promise for another, and it doesn't by itself establish long-term output. Acceptance criteria for the machine are agreed per project, so decide with us which observations carry into the quotation. The filling accuracy guide covers how to assess accuracy.
Fees and Scheduling
Fees, schedule and location are confirmed with the team. If a cost applies, it should appear in your proposal. See service and support for how the project process fits together, and the price guide for how costs are handled in a quotation.
To compare two approaches, say so at the start. Judge both on the same product lot, the same pouch and the same measurement method, or the comparison tells you little.
Submit Your Project
